I would like to be a Party Clown one day. I hate my job and want to be a clown. Where do I start?
Wow,,,,,, well the first thing is if you live in a big enough area to support a professional clown. How many people live in your town and surrounding area?
There are 400,000 in my town and another 300,000 in the suburbs around me.
You will want to start learning several skills if you do not already know them. Magic, Juggling, Balloon Animals, Puppetry face painting and so on. About a quarter of the shows I do every year are straight black suit no clown face magic shows.
It is odd but one of the secrets to be a clown that makes a good living is not being a clown some of the time. The more skills you know the more types of shows you can do.
Come on by at 4:00 PM on Sunday for our juggling class online at: https://meet.goto.com/189934429 You will need to bring three balls. Note I skilled the BYOB joke.
Which is better, the COAI or WCA?
That is a difficult question. I personally had a bad experience with COAI. I attended the last WCA convention and it was nice. They had a good variety of classes and an ok vendor room. The issue is that both have one relatively costly convention a year. The issue that I have is that neither of them have classes the rest of the year.
@zeeppo Interested in your bad experience with COAI. I am having an "odd" experience with a COAI alley.
