First Aid Kit for my Brigade

Since we have started classes, again, I am putting together new equipment trunks for each site. We teach in churches and a community center in a minority dominated area of my city. In our group we have a doctor and a paramedic. I asked them to pick out new first aid kits. Get something that would cover what we would need. They came to the conclusion we should get a certain IFAK with extra gen 7 tourniquets and gauze. They found a kit with ten of these and more gauze than I have ever personally seen in my life.

I suggested we could not possibly need that many tourniquets. What are the chances someone is going to be bit by a snake in a church or community center. My paramedic friend looked at me and said they would be needed in a mass shooting event. They also said the gen 7 tourniquet was the best one for us because it works on children. 

I don't know what is worse. The fact this is a good idea. The fact that it is needed because my fellow American are so scared or so selfish they will not give up their guns.
