The Old Clown Forum

@zeeppo I heard the old foruum was not mantained and overrtakn by haker.

There was a conversation starting about the old clownforum.com in another thread. This subject probably deserves it's own thread so here it is. 

First off I was never part of the administration of the old clownforumn.com. I was a member of it and used it off and on for years. 

In the last four or five years of the site there certainly appeared to be more unpleasant incidents than the previous years. I can understand why an admin would give up on the site. 

I was commenting on a thread that was asking what makes a clown business profitable. I suggested that having as many marketable skills was a good way to stay in business. I also suggested being flexible in the kinds of acts that one does. I mentioned I have a couple sequined vests that I would wearing during stand alone juggling shows. 

My comment was attacked by someone who claimed clowns did not need to juggle. They further stated jugglers are not clowns and I was wrong to suggest one could make money as a juggler alone. It was a rather brutal reply. An admin took down my reply stating it was off subject. They left up the attack on me even though it was not about the subject at all and lacked context without my reply. 

The person that originally asked the question did not see my reply. They asked me about it later. I had to email them off the forum to answer their question. 

One thing the old forum was good at was allowing clowns to communicate with each other. That is apart from the last couple years where it fell apart. On facebook you are no longer allowed to use a clown name. I would like people to be able to have the facade of their clown here. 

As for the old forum being hacked I don't know. I have found four different addresses used by the old forum. My Brigade now owns two of them. One is attached to a site that appears to be dead. Another is owned by a company that was willing to sell it to me for a great deal of money. Far more than it is worth. 

One of the goals my group of clowns, is to maintain and reestablish clowning as a performing craft where it has waned.
